Wireless Internet for the Visor

Wed May 10, 2000 - 8:52 AM EDT - By James Hromadka

GoAmerica announced today a Springboard module that will allow Handspring Visor owners to access its Go.Web Internet service. From the press release:
GoAmerica's Go.Web™ service for the Handspring Visor will allow individuals and businesses wireless access to POP3 email, the Internet and their corporate intranet using multiple nationwide wireless data networks. Go.Web's proprietary technology will optimize wireless data for the Visor to provide a full, non-clipped Internet experience. Go.Web for the Visor will also support Microsoft® Word attachments that can be reviewed and edited on the device. In addition, users will be able to customize Go.Web to suit their individual needs.
The Go.web Internet module is set for a Q3 2000 release. Pricing for the Springboard module hasn't been set at this time; currently, unlimited access is $49.95/mo. for the Minstrel III modem, so wireless access for the Visor will probably be somewhere in that price range.
