More on the Thincom

Tue Jun 13, 2000 - 10:55 PM EDT - By James Hromadka

Here's some more information on the Thincom modem that was just released by Card Access.
  • The Thincom modem uses less than 50 mA when in full connect mode, half as much as Handspring's guidlines for Springboard module consumption.
  • The applications that are included are: Browse-it web-rendering/ browsing software from PumaTech, Inc. and a trial of MultiMail from Actual Soft.
  • V.90 will be available in the fall and there will be a small fee
associated with it. Card Access isn't planning on making a profit on the upgrade so it shouldn't cost very much.
We expect to receive a review unit of the Thincom soon and should have a review of the Springboard module by next week.
