Thu Jun 15, 2000 - 9:35 AM EDT - By James Hromadka

Handspring has announced that it has opened its Japanese headquarters and will begin selling Visors and Springboard modules in Japan this month at their Japanese website. From the press release:
"To support the rollout of Visor in Japan Handspring has also implemented Japanese customer care, technical support and logistics centers. The introduction of Visor into the hotly contested Japanese handheld market is the company's next step in establishing a worldwide customer base for its popular handheld computers that have been well received already in the U.S. and Europe. Handspring began selling Visor in the U.S. in October, 1999 and throughout Europe in May."
The suggested retail price of the Visor Deluxe in Japan will be ¥ 29,800.
