Official Omnisky announcement

Tue Oct 31, 2000 - 8:45 AM EST - By James Hromadka

Omnisky officially announced the availability of its service for the Handspring Visor today. As readers have noted, the service only works with the Prism and Platinum Visors:
"OmniSky is focused on delivering the best user experience for wireless Internet and e-mail on a handheld," said Barak Berkowitz, OmniSky president. "The Visor Platinum and Visor Prism are great platforms to work on. The integration, ease of installation, and flexibility of these products are what make them so popular. Now with OmniSky, users can experience the real Internet, as well."
The press release also notes that the installation CD (which doesn't run on a Mac) is used to activate the service and that Omnisky will be available at locations such as AT&T Stores, CDW, CompUSA, Datavision, Franklin Covey, Fry's Electronics, J&R Computer World, Micro Center, PC Connection, RCS Computer Experience, Staples, and Amazon.com in mid-November.

There are several rebate options for Visor Deluxe owners. Click here for the related news item. I just hope Omnisky works in color soon.
