Kyocera Wireless Internet Cable by Gomadic

Finally, a way to wirelessly connect your Handspring Visor to the Internet without having to buy an expensive Wireless card and associated monthly service fee (ie. Omnisky, etc).
Using this unique one-piece Visor to Kyocera Wireless Internet data cable, you can connect your Handspring Visor series handhelds to a Kyocera CDMA digital phone. This is ideal for wireless email and web browsing. This cable enables you to access the web using the minutes included in your monthly service fee of your cell phone. You don't need to pay an additional service provider! This cable is only 6 inches long and enables the user to fit the phone and PDA comfortably in one hand in a back-to-back configuration.

This cable is custom built and is not available in any stores. THE ONLY OTHER METHOD TO ACCESS WIRELESS NETWORKS WITH YOUR VISOR IS VIA THE EXPENSIVE WIRELESS CARDS AND A MONTHLY WIRELESS ACCESS FEE.

cannot connect with Verizon
I bought this cable almost a year ago and have spoken with several technicians from both the manfacturer and Verizon, with no success. No one could get this combo to work. What a waste of money.....

Will Not Connect Visor Deluxe to Verizon
Neither Gomadic or their competitor (Cabledirect or something like that)can make the Visor Deluxe model connect to the Verizon CDMA network. Devices with Palm OS 3.5 and abover work fine, but if you have a VDX and Verizon, do not buy this product.

I like this company +++++
I ordered this cable on Christmas Day, after I got may Visor Platinum, got it on Fri 28th. A little trouble with the config at first, support&FAQ form Gomadic site helped, they even answerd my questions on a Sunday of a holiday weekend 12/30/01, using it with a QCP2035a and AOL for Palm

Works fine; only problem is 14.4 data transmission rate
I use my Kyocera 2035a phone with the Visor and the cable. You need to have lots of phone time available, because speed is 14.4 kbps; you do get a choice of whether or not to load graphics, which can speed things up some. Handspring Blazer is a great browser.

Works Great
I am using this cable with a Visor Deluxe and a Kyocera 2035a. The apps I'm using are Eudora for email and Blazer for the web. Works great - and the best part - no monthly access charges for net access!
