QuickOffice selling quickly

Wed Aug 22, 2001 - 10:08 PM EDT - By James Hromadka

Cutting Edge Software has announced that its QuickOffice software was the top-selling Palm OS application in retail stores for the month of July according to NPD Intelect.

Quickoffice includes Quicksheet and Quickword, with bi-directional connectivity to their desktop counterparts, MS Excel and MS Word. The suite also includes Quickchart, Quicksheet's graphing module, and the Quickoffice Desktop application for the PC that provides easy access to file and synchronization management between the Visor and desktop computer.

It's good to see new Palm OS applications jumping up the retail charts. No matter how well Internet sales do, there is nothing quite like walking into a store and leaving with a physical package as opposed to a software download. It is also a marketing mechanism for all Palm-related products, as it shows consumers just what that little handheld can do.
