@ctiveLink gets FCC & Canadian approval

Fri Aug 18, 2000 - 5:10 PM EDT - By James Hromadka

The @ctiveLink took one step closer to shipping yesterday when Glenayre announced that it had FCC approval and Industry Canada RSS134 certification for the Springboard module. From the press release:
Currently Glenayre has signed strategic relationship agreements with several solution and application developers and Application Service Providers. These relationships will result in applications to allow Visor users to send and receive e-mail notifications from their personal and/or business account; obtain stock quotes, news updates, weather reports and other information on-demand; access corporate enterprise applications; and utilize a variety of mobile finance, commerce, content and communications applications. Additionally, one developer is working on an application that will give medical professionals wireless connectivity to their offices, hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturers, laboratories and retail pharmacies.
Please release it soon -- I can't wait to get my hands on this one! Thanks to Jamie S for the news.
