SpringPort Modem 56 GlobalACCESS

Tue Nov 21, 2000 - 1:12 PM EST - By Mark Pierson

Conclusion

The SpringPort Modem 56 GlobalACCESS module is a full featured, durable, and dependable Springboard module, albeit a bit large. The included software applications allow you to use it immediately out of the box (once you've setup a network connection in Preferences). Overall, it does what it's intended to do very well. Its only real shortcoming is its large size (a trend we're seeing in many of the newer modules). A few fixes to the driver, such as better low battery warnings, the addition of a battery meter to check battery levels, and maybe even a modem status screen, would only enhance an already good product.
