Cool Module Design Contest

HandspringXilinx Inc, along with Handspring and Portable Design Magazine, began today the "Cool Module" Design Contest. From the press release:
The Cool Module Design Contest offers portable system designers the opportunity to design a Springboard™ expansion module and compete for a top prize of $10,000, a free Handspring™ Visor™ Platinum handheld computer, and publication of the winning design in Portable Design Magazine. Design entries of proposed Springboard modules will be accepted through April 30, 2001. The top ten finalists will be announced on May 14, 2001. Each of the top ten finalists will receive a Xilinx CoolRunner® CPLD-based prototyping board, provided by Insight Electronics, and a Handspring Visor Platinum. Finalists must submit working designs by June 30, 2001. Final designs will be judged by Xilinx chief technology officer Bill Carter, founder, chairman and chief product officer for Handspring, Jeff Hawkins, and editor-in-chief of Portable Design, Richard Nass.
