New Handspring Developer Marketplace

Wed Mar 7, 2001 - 2:42 PM EST - By James Hromadka

Handspring has announced a Developer's Marketplace where module makers and service providers can meet and do business with each other. From the press release:
Powered by eLance ..., the Handspring developer marketplace will focus on bringing professionals together in the areas of business strategy, Springboard module development, Palm OS software development, mechanical and industrial design, Web design and development, and graphic design. Taking advantage of the latest in communication technologies, the new virtual marketplace enables the worldwide community of Handspring developers, customers and partners to collaborate on all aspects of developing on the Handspring platform and bringing products to market.
Hopefully this will allow small companies to compete more effectively in the open market. Some of the most brilliant modules available have been released by small companies, and I think that collaboration can only make these products better. Another potential benefit is that we may start seeing products that can work together, whether it's a standardized image viewer on external memory modules or a single conduit for them all.

Thanks to Matthew Bordelon for the news.
