Now that VisorCentral is back from PC Expo we can catch up on non-conference related news. Handspring has revamped the support section to have better access to frequently asked questions such as HotSync issues and software updates. Speaking of updates, there are two new software updates : a Prism/Platinum Updater 1.4 that fixes several bugs (see below) and a Contrast Utility for Prism owners. Now you don't need to change the system time to change the contrast level!
Here is a list of the improved features from the Updater:- Improved Graffiti writing performance on the Visor Prism handheld.
- Modem HotSync operation capability that was not previously implemented. A modem HotSync operation can be used to perform synchronization remotely. Using your handheld with a communications Springboard module, you can dial into an analog modem that is connected to your PC or Mac and synchronize your data.
- Fixes Connection method editing. After modifying the default profiles in the Connection section of Preferences, a USB HotSync operation or IR synchronization - which worked previously - would fail.
- Fixes bitmap compression. When viewing images or objects that have been compressed, the image data may be corrupted.
