Franklin Physician Software on the Visor

Mon Dec 13, 1999 - 11:03 AM EST - By James Hromadka

Franklin announced today that it will "develop and market content" for the Handspring Visor.

From the press release:
Franklin will market the 2000 Edition of the Physicians' Desk Reference®, or PDR® as it is widely known, which is published by Medical Economics Company, in a variety of bundles with a Visor handheld and a Springboard 8 MB upgradeable memory module. These Visor PDR bundles not only provide a one-stop solution for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, but also provide for about 3 MB of flash memory free in the Springboard module for additional storage.

Advance orders for PDR Visor bundles can be placed at the Franklin or Medical Economics websites starting in January. The bundles will range from $379.95 to $449.95 for the Visor Deluxe. Users that already own a Visor can purchase the PDR springboard for $199.95, with annual updates at $99.95.

Franklin also has plans for Springboard modules of the Merriam-Webster American English Dictionary, a Spanish-English Bilingual Dictionary, and the King James Bible.

Hopefully Franklin will eventually market the Visor with the Franklin-Covey Planner software.
