Fortunately my wife has Windows 98 on her laptop, so I installed the software there. The first time I inserted the Presenter-to-Go into the Visor Prism, nothing happened. The module didn't function until I had connected everything at least once. Connecting the PtG to a monitor/projector involves the following:
Desktop Software
One of the first surprises with the Presenter-to-Go Desktop software is that there isn't a HotSync conduit for it. A Plug-in for PowerPoint lets you click a button and convert your presentation into a format for the module. If you're not using PowerPoint, print to the Presenter-to-Go printer using landscape mode and you can make anything (Word, Excel, HTML, etc.) into a presentation. You can also append to an existing presentation, so you can start with a few PowerPoint slides, work in an Excel table, then finish it off with a splash of Word. You can also restore presentations that you've HotSynced.
Don't worry about the order, as you can change that on the Visor later.
When you click the Queue button, the PtG presentation database is added
to your Install list for your Palm Desktop Software to be installed the
next time you HotSync.
