FireConverter, which costs $19.95, is also
easy to use. On the Conversion tab, open an image file (GIF/JPG/BMP/RLE/TGA/PCX)
or get the Windows Clipboard contents. Use the Options tab (pictured)
to change image dithering and the grayscale number to use. When a
color Visor is one day released, FireConverter is ready to convert to color
images as well.
Use the Note tab to type in any notes about
your image, and the Preview tab to see what
the final image will look like on your Visor. There is also an About
tab with version and support information.
When ready, have Auto-Install checked with your username selected and
click the Convert button. It takes a
few moments to finish the conversion, then HotSync to get the image on
your Visor.
There currently is no Mac version of FireConverter
available, but GraphicConverter
($35) can convert images to .pdb files that are readable by FireViewer.
The only thing that is really missing is a zoom feature.
Conclusion
The FireViewer/FireConverter combo is a great way to view static images
of almost any size on your Visor. Best of all, FireViewer is free!
