More Information
If you encounter memory line errors, including Memory MgrNew.c,Line:4128
Invalid handle, do the following.
A lot of these fatal errors lead into loops which can only be broken by
doing a warm (up-arrow) reset. However, upon the next reset/restore/sync you
get the fatal errors again.
This usually means that something is screwy in the Palm's version of the
.ini file, the Preferences. Either delete the data ("Saved Prefs" with
zCatalog or DBExplorer on the Palm, not forgetting the backup "Saved Prefs"
on the desktop if you have to restore (otherwise you are back to square
zero). You might want to first try selectively deleting as well. Use PrefMgr
or Preference Editor for this. Both solutions usually concern the "Saved"
prefs. Don't mess with the HotSync or PalmOS prefs unless you WANT all your
memos and apps in the UNFILED category, or want to delete your hotSync name.
This "solution" usually saves me a hard reset, especially after a playing
around with hacks or IR apps (I have about 15 running) screws something up
big time. Unfortunately, against the blinking cursor splash screen error
(e.g. Oops...installed all four files in the PalmIR enhance Zip. Baaad.),
this won't work since a warm reset doesn't get you anywhere.
If this error message does not go away, it might be due to problems with the DRAM. Pull the batteries out
(and prey you have backups of you data) then press the reset button on the back. Now wait 5 mins (sometimes longer).
ALL DATA WILL BE LOST!
