Two down, ??? to Go...
Yesterday Everex announced that it is leaving the Windows CE market. The Freestyle 540, which was a color Palm-size PC, will not make it to market. Everex is discontinuing the monochrome models as well. Battery life and availability of Color LCDs were cited as reasons.This announcement comes on the heels of Phillips discontinuing their Nino line of Palm-sized PCs. Now Compaq is rumored to be leaving the market as well. At a time when Palm is licensing their OS to Handspring, Sony, and others, WinCE is witnissing an exodus. 2000 is going to be a very interesting year.
