CNN has this story that gives an overview of your options for giving someone a PDA for Christmas this year. The article mentions the shortages that Handspring has been struggling with, and gives an overview of Palm and other PDAs, including Windows CE and Psion.

One thing I noticed was the popularity of the Palm VII, which the article says is back-ordered on the Palm website. I know that many people said the P7 would be Palm's first failure, but so far it looks to be doing fairly well.
