Blown away by Stow away |
Wow. Tried both the Go Type! and the Stowaway. No comparison. Much more useful than I thought. I might just be able to ditch the laptop.
Just for kicks and comparison, I used Giraffe game - I consider myself very good at graffitti but not a touch typer (close though). My 'medium speed' giraffi graffitti score was 720- which left my hand sore. With the keyboard on my first try typing in a very awakard position on the couch I scored 2358, a 327% improvement and no sore hand.
Even though I really like it, there are a few minor drawbacks not mentioned in the review:
1) The attaching procedure is tough... especially at first. This is probably mostly due to the visor's design and I think they did as good as they could.
2) There are two little holes (left and right) to hold a stylus as some things can't be accessed by keyboard. Anyhow, the holes aren't quite big enough and the pen is not held securly.
3) There is a neat ability to assign applications to the number keys (cmd + # can launch an app). Unfortuately, there is no room to label these, so you'll need a really good memory.
All in all, well worth the $

Absolutely easy. |
It is incredebly easy and fast to get it out, and typing is a breaze. Of course, it helps to know how to touch type.
It does, although, drain some battery.

Wonderful! |
It's a bit tough to get a hold of these, as with any visor accessories in canada. The only people up here carrying them are future shop and some business depots. Wonderful product though, couldn't be happier.

This thing is great! |
Finally found one sitting on a Staples store shelf up here in Canada... these things are hard to find, they sell out so quickly.. and for good reason! This thing is going to be really useful. It transforms your Visor from a simple PDA to a practical handheld computing device!

Replaced my notebook |
Thank God I don't have to use graffiti except for mini-notes! It is an attractive accessory, invites instant comments and works very well for my needs which is mainly word processing.

FANTASTIC!!! |
Very clever design, feels very sturdy and the key response is BETTER than my laptop. Having stylus wells on both sides of the keyboard is also a very thoughtful for us left handed people. It's my best purchase this year, besides my visor itself!

GOTTA HAVE IT! |
I just got the keyboard last night, I think I've read every review ever written, and examined every option. Finally plunked down the $ and i'm not dissapointed. Plugged it in, turned it on and said "Cool!"
I'm pretty good with graphiti, but the stowaway, has just moved graphiti into the backseat forever!

Outstanding engineering |
Its incredible how small this thing is. Very high WOW factor. I carry it everywhere with me, it fits very easily in my cargo pants pocket. I would recommend this for anyone planning to enter large amounts of text on your visor.

fastest way to enter text into Handspring. |
I like Grafetti, but let's face it, most of us don't write much anymore; we keyboard. It's much faster than handwriting and certainly faster than tapping out a note on the screen. The stowaway itself is amazing. I'm constantly folding and unfolding it. I have trouble believing a full size keyboard can get that small. As far as touch, it feels like my ThinkPad keyboard, it's that good. Glad I bought it.

Great Addition |
The Stowaway has changed my whole approach to the Visor. It's quick and easy to use with a good typing "feel" to it.
