The Stowaway is a wonder, it's inventor is too. |
I saw an interview with Bob Olodort on Charlie Rose a few weeks ago. The inventor's story is very inspiring, reminds me in many ways of Jeff Hawkins. You can ead an interview with Olodort at the Wired.com website:

Can't wait to get one.

It's a new product, and its availability forhe visor has just been announced. The palm pilot version is great.

Ordering problems |
We heard about the Stowaway months ago. Frustrated not being able to order it even though it was featured on Think Outside's and later on Targus's websites. Then it was delayed twice, and then Targus's redesigned website online ordering system seemed to drop the company name entered - it took a couple of phone calls to find out it wasn't dropped. Not very good first impressions, although the product appears good, certainly better than the GoType. The people at Targus were friendly and helpful on the phone. Hope they solve the ordering and availability problems.

A miracle. |
I have the keyboard for the PALM V. I wouldn't consider getting a Visor without the Stowaway.

WAY better than GoType |
I own both. After some initial issues with a malfunctioning Stowaway, I've now come to realize that the GoType is a poor cousin to the Stowaway. The Stowaway has FAR better key usage - meaning, I need to use the stylus much less than I had with the GoType. The rest of the benefits are obvious.

it's vaporware |
I ordered one from Targus after their web link went from "available mid-March" to "available mid-April" to an actual ordering page. Now I just received an e-mail saying it won't be out until mid-May. You may not think I should be reviewing since I don't own one, but nobody does except for those lucky beta testers. Also, customer support is part of a product IMHO.

Almost Perfect! |
The only gripe I have is that I do find it awkward to use on my lap (unlike the reviewer). Other than that, though, typing on this thing is wonderful for the highly mobile writer.

Does anyone own this? |
I wouldn't recommend this product because I don't own it. Apparently the other reviewers don't either. Shouldn't reviews be limited to the actual owners and users of a product? I would like to be able to use this information to determine if I want to buy a product. I want to read User Opinions, not Wanna-Be User Opinions.
