What happens when you combine convenience with functionality? You get the new Cross MicroPen, with both a retractable Ball-point pen tip and a PDA stylus tip.
One tip is a polymeric stylus for the patented "pen-on-paper" feel. The opposite tip is the propel/retract ball-point pen mechanism with a black ink refill included.

WARNING: Broke my Prism |
I got this stylus, and it broke my Prism.
Teh stylus is a bit small, and becuase of the shaep of it's head it can move aroudn a lot inside. On the second time that I ever put it into the prism, it hit a capacitor on the circuit boiard and popped it off. Now my data is lost, had to sync my backups, plus my capcitor C146 is missing, and I have no clue what it did. I'm mad! This jsut happaned on Feb 2nd, 02 so I'll make sure to find the entire details out later.
If you dont' acare about things breaking your PDAs, it's nto a bad pen/stylus. seriously!

WARNING: Not easily removed from Visor Deluxe silo |
MicroPen warning--MicroPen not easily removed from Visor Deluxe silo
I bought the MicroPen , by Cross, for my Visor Deluxe. It's attractive and feels well made.
However, after I installed it in my Visor Deluxe silo, removing the pen was:
- *impossible* through my Rhodiana case, and worse
- *extremely difficult* even with the Visor out of the case.
The problem is, with the pen in the silo, the lift lever is practically flush with the outside silo housing, and the little that is *barely grippable* is 3/8ths of an inch down from the top of the Visor.
Luckily I tested the pen before leaving my local Grand & Toy store [Canada], and I returned the pen for a full refund.
In my opinion, if Cross wants to advertise that the pen is compatible with the Visor Deluxe, then they should redesign the lift lever so that the pen can be readily removed from the silo.
