Read Review (Rating 4/5) <<
The ThumBoard makes it easy to type text into Visor on the go - with no tables, no infrared linkups, and no cables. The ThumBoard takes handheld computing farther than ever!
Slip into Something More Comfortable
The ThumBoard is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Palm and Handspring Visor Handheld. Connecting with the Serial interface, the industrial design of the Thumboard is so precise that the unit can be left on the handheld at all times. Now that's Mobility!
Full Control and More
With its QWERTY keyboard, data input is accomplished by typing with your thumbs. But the ThumBoard isn't just your everyday keyboard. Your handheld's primary application buttons-such as Power, To Do, Date Book, and Memo - are included on the ThumBoard for easier use. You also get an extended character set for maximum convenience along with shortcuts for on-screen buttons such as New, Done, Details, and OK. ThumBoard even offers text selection capabilities and a Menu Command key for text editing such as Copy, Cut, and Paste.

Thumbs mostly up! |
Yes, it's a bad pun, but it is an accurate statement of my feelings for this device.
Almost all of the applications I had on my Visor Deluxe worked with the Thumboard. The only exception was the calculator program I was using. I have found a suitable replacement for it that does work with the Thumboard.
I am experiencing one quirk with it. When you turn the backlight on then off using the Thumboard, pressing the power off button causes my Visor to try to HotSync. This also happens randomly during normal usage.
After a phone call to Seiko support, it was determined that this is a problem with the latest driver for the Thumboard. They will email you the older driver that does work, but the older driver does not have the needed support for the VisorPhone and other modules.
I do not know if this occurs only on the Visor Deluxe or if it occurs on all Visor models. In either case, Seiko is working on fixing this for the next driver update.
