The Asp |
Fast on it's own, but screams with quickbits. Now if I can just put it down long enough to get some work done.

Definately A Thumbs Up |
I traded in the Visor Deluxe because I wanted to purchse a wireless modem and everthing I read said you had to have the Prism or Platinum...Since color was not important to me I decided on the Platinum. As soon as I started playing I loved it...MUCH faster than the VDX. Yesterday I received my Yada Yada modem (another review...another time!) and it is an awesome combination!

Its good |
It was a great PDA but I had problems with digitizing. Had to do that every other day. So I returned it and will be getting a new one.

A Better version of the Deluxe! |
Aside from getting the prism what else would you want or need.
Once you become accustomed to the speed, you are spoiled forever.
Truly.

Upgrade from BVDX to Platinum |
Well, it's been three weeks or so since I received my new Platinum. In that time, I have become an even bigger fan of HANDSPRING. I never realized that my Visor Dlx was actually slow until I put the Platinum through it's paces.
Swapover from the BVDX was simple using the instructions on Handsprings site. Since the upgrade I've noticed a few things.
1. The Platinum actually shows up in my Rhodiana case now.
2. I've fallen prey to the overclockers disease...the Platinum was fast, but with Quickbits and Afterburner applied, it actually screams. I would have never investigated this option prior to seeing the advantages of a faster unit.
3. While I had about 7mg on my BVDX, I now have a full flash SB and an additional 6mg on the Platinum...I search out more useful programs because of a renewed interest in my device.
All in all, it's been easy to see the advantages of upgrading. It would be even easier to see the justification for an additional $50 if I was buying my first PDA. I am happy to be avoiding the irritations that the Prism owners have experienced and take comfort in knowing my gear is still at the forefront of the PDA tech curve.
Would I do it again? IN A HEARTBEAT! Now all I have to do is find a loving home for my BVDX...

Great and Quick |
Much quicker than the company issued Palm IIIx I had. Now if someone would just make a Springboard that accepted CompactFlash cards.

a fantastic product |
I gave up my Visor Deluxe for a Platinum after trying the Platinum for a week. The Platinum drives all of my apps faster. The most noticeable differences are when I'm using large spreadsheets, big datatbases and taking notes with TextPlus.
I only wish that it came in graphite rather than silver.
