Eyemodule by Blocks Products

>> Read Review (Rating 3/5) <<

If you want to impress your friends, take the eyemodule out of your Visor and tell them it's a digital camera, put it into your Visor and give them a demo.

Instantly capture and view images. Label them and beam them to other Palm OS devices or email them to friends. Import images into your address book so you can literally put a face to a name. You can even use the timer to record events as they unfold.

Great $60 Digital Cam
For the $59 that OfficeMax is selling these for now, this module is definetly worth every penny. When buying this, DO NOT, IN *ANY* WAY expect a full fledged digital camera. This is a really cool quick and dirty digital camera in an ultra small package. It's great to carry with you EVERYWHERE, and take snapshots when you would otherwise be cameraless. Great for little family outings or when goofing around with friends and you want to capture a moment :)

For it's size it's wonderful
I love mine, I take it with me wherever I go, which gives me the opportunity to capture images that I wouldn't otherwise be able to get at. You can read our review or look at some pictures taken with it.

Pics too grainy. Buy an eyemodule 2
I just got it today, and the pics I took with it were so grainy that I don't see the point of making color shots. It seems alright for palm pics though. I'm looking forward to trying out the eyemodule 2 once the price drops a few dollars.

Practical = No; Cool = Yes
Not much doing on the high-level use side. If you're wanting to start taking digital pics, buy a full-on digi-cam first, eye moudle second. If fun snapshots and a cool "high-tech" feel are what you're looking for, eyemodule is for you.

Ensure expectation is set right
As mentioned by all other reviewers, ensure you know what you are getting into before getting it. Besides the grainy pics, there are other quirkiness like fix lense, sucks in bad lighting, but handy when you need it. Next release _should_ be better...and _should_ be priced lower....

Cool, cute, fun.
I got it, and love it. The $50 rebate helped a bit. Listen, don't buy the eyemodule if you're looking to be the next Ansel Adams. This is a gadget, a tech toy, a great example of what PDAs and Visor slots can do. The pictures are grainy, and don't look much better on your computer than they do on the Visor screen (I'm using a Prism, so it's an improvement). But a Visor with an eyemodule fits almost anywhere, and is way less intrusive than a digital camera. Whether you want to take fun shots at an outing or surreptitious pictures at a meeting, an eyemodule will go places (and get reactions) a run-of-the-mill digicam won't. Besides, I consider the distinctly sized and smudged pictures that come out of this thing to be a kind of special "geek art." A cross between early-adopter quirk and cutting-edge tech. A little comparison...
While I don't actually own this module, I've seen several images taken by it. And I don't mean to insult anyone who purchased this seemingly neat "gee-whiz" module, but I have a similar little add-on for my Color Gameboy that takes images of roughly the same quality that cost me all of 10 bucks for sale at Wal-Mart. And yet IDEO wants 150 for this thing? Something just seems off there. Both, from what I've heard and what I can vouch for the Gameboy equivalent, are fairly unpractical. I should also note that the Gameboy camera allows you to take small video clips, and add pictures taken into its built-in (and, albeit, crappy) games. Bare in mind, my opinion can't be totally justified without owning this product and that I still love my Visor (more so than even by precious GB color).
